Remote Support

Remote support of computers has developed into an industry of its own. Effeciantly accessing and controlling desktops through the web via the use of online computer support software has led to increased productivity and higher rates of customer satisfaction. Support organization and tech support departments can reach out and provide their services to nearly any computer in the world and effectively deliver the same support service they would normally without having to be on-site.

Who Uses Remote Support

Almost all major PC manufacturers and software vendors have a version of PC remote support software they utilize to access their clients computers, servers, and in some cases networking equipment to provide faster support services to meet warranty agreements and SLAs (Service Level Agreements). Some PC makers and software developers have even designed their own versions of desktop remote support software to both enable their own staff to provide PC and software support and even to resell such as the case of Microsoft and Inter-tel.

Microsoft for example, has developed LiveMeeting. It is a technological software masterpiece. Of course with the brains that Microsoft has behind its doors it now wonder that their software is top notch.

Inter-tel had purchased Lintiv1ty and have since continued it development. Lintiv1ty is a very nice system for remote support and online conferencing and collaboration.

Dell has a flavor of computer support software that was rolled out several years ago but was shelved for technological reasons and that it was not returning the revenue they had believed it would. They have a force of PC and server technicians that can be dispatched to assist their customers who have paid for on-site support. Dell was very innovative in introducing this type of service to their support center. They had thought that by being able to remote support though the web, their talk time would be less per support engineer and thus would free them up sooner from being on the phone and then get to another support incident.

Remote PC Support

Tech support has changed in many ways over the years. It used to be that supporting computers usually meant a site visit or a slow dial-up connection to the remote PC using text based pc remote control software like carbon copy for remote PC support. Remote PC support no longer can rely on dial-up as text is no longer the common screen element users see in their computing experience but rather have large screens with tons of color pixels. Remote PC support software and remote PC tech support has evolved into an industry that contains both statically configured hosts and clients or into dynamic connections to remote pc systems of both desktop and server categories.

Getting Rich Quick--From My Site!

I might not want a large amount of text on my home page if I want to guide visitors toward my other pages. Instead of text, I can add others' buttons to this first page, and I'll be rewarded for people who click on the buttons. For example, if a visitor signs up for a Visa using the NextCard button on my site, I earn at least $20!

Behind the Scenes of My Home Page

Even if I don't put much text on my home page, it's a good idea to include hidden tools that will help me promote my site, so people other than my friends and family actually see it. For example, I could add meta tags, which are hidden codes that allow search engines to find my site. I could also install stats and a counter so I know how many people are visiting. If not many are visiting, submitting my site to search engines will guide more traffic to my site.
